There are several types of themed costume parties that habitancy hold at all times of the year. Fundraisers, birthday parties, even weddings are often held with a Roaring Twenties or Murder mystery theme. At those occasions women dress up in Flapper Costumes or 20s clothing and men come in pinstriped suits with dress hats. But even those occasions are not what make wearing Flapper costumes trendy.

According to current high fashion magazines like Vogue, dressing retro is all the time a safe bet. Add to that the popularity of our cultures' pop music divas like Lady Gaga, and glam is absolutely a current fashion statement. The low waist or no waist dresses common in Flapper costumes are also one of the favorites on the list of well dressed celebrities.

Feathers, beads, sequins, glitter; all of these things are part of a Flapper look and all of those things are part of the current trend of several high fashion designers as well.

I'm not suggesting celebrities are wearing Flapper costumes to their premiers. Although, come to think of it I don't see why not. But what I am suggesting is that many Flapper costumes and accessories can be categorically adapted for any party. Wearing a Flapper dress to the theatre, especially a musical would be great fun. You can't beat the feel of dancing in that fringe either.

For Halloween you may or may not want to get a pink Flapper costume and wear a pink wig. But quite categorically most of the Flapper costumes are the type that can be worn to just about any dress up opening surface of a church supper.

In fact there are several costumes that are somewhat conservative. They are designed to capture the look of the uptown ladies like the ones F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote about. For instance the Puttin' on the Ritz costume is a 20s style velour and satin dress is about knee length in the front and slightly longer in the back. A cloche hat, typical of the era, is also included. The cloche hats are advent back in style as well.

Another uptown lady look is the Elegant Ellie Costume. This one has a 20's crepe satin dress with a bow at the hip and a modest lace insert on the bodice.

Of procedure not all of the Flapper costumes are modest. The new breed of women of the era were all about freeing themselves from Victorian stereo types and restrictions. But of procedure what was shocking then, well not so much today.

Some of the costumes are categorically quite stunning. The Flirty Flapper costume is gray velvet with an embossed black scroll design. The fringe trim is what makes it so flirty and would be a great dress to wear dancing. Long black gloves, a feathered headpiece and a long necklace are included too.

Another great look for anytime is a black sequined dress called the Gatsby Girl Adult Costume. The sequins shimmer and the fringe flows but this dress has class. It comes with a sequined headband and black over the elbow fingerless gloves.

You don't have wait for Halloween. Any of these Flapper costumes can be worn all during the year and give you a classy up to date look that everybody will consideration and admire.
